Cheltenham Races: Prologue
This week I am heading to Gloucestershire to work during the notorious Cheltenham Races. This is my first time working the festival so I’m excited because girls famously make bank there, but £400 in the hole for travel, board and house fee, I am nervous it won’t live up to the legend.
I am only doing two shifts, so let’s see how it goes, if it’s good I’ll come back for the full week next year.
I have been cynical lately, so I am also looking at this as an opportunity to change my thinking about the industry, and to find out what parts of the sexual entertainment world are still thriving. So, I will don my pleasers and my lab coat, and I will try new things.
As I type, my train-mates are playing card games for money and and drinking champagne out of little plastic cups. There’s a jolly vibe on my (quiet) carriage as the horrors of our world become easier to ignore with every mile travelled. This makes it seem like it could be a kind of escapism for me, too. I have false nails on for the first time in my life and it’s not easy to type like this. I am once again in awe of high femmes. Time to invent a new character.
I have decided to make more of an effort to be conventionally attractive and not try to lean on the “alternative girl” look this week. I imagine people are going to be drunk and I’ll need to move fast. It might be loud and I’ll have to rely more on looking hot and slutty, less on eroticism and quirkiness.
The guys behind me have opened anther champagne and have become incredibly loud. Thank God for noise cancelling earphones. I’m also pleased because I think a lot of them are the type of customer I attract. Middle class, married, love to gamble.
Have you ever danced at Cheltenham Races?
I’ll be back soon with an update on Cheltenham!
Love,

How did it go? How did you do?!
